Role Overview:

Farm Credit Canada is seeking a Corporate Secretary to provide strategic support to the Board of Directors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, with a proven track record of building high-quality relationships.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or commerce, and at least 10 years of related experience. They will have extensive knowledge of Canadian corporate governance requirements and regulatory requirements for a federal Crown corporation.

The role will involve overseeing the operations of the Corporate Secretariat team, leading governance and compliance for the Board, and engaging in strategic planning, reporting, and Board development.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with solid business judgment, a relationship-builder with excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven leader passionate about helping others succeed.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Corporate Secretariat team's operations
  • Lead governance and compliance for the Board
  • Engage in strategic planning, reporting, and Board development
  • Facilitate clear and transparent communication between the Board and executive leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or commerce
  • At least 10 years of related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian corporate governance requirements and regulatory requirements for a federal Crown corporation
  • Proven track record of building high-quality relationships and working effectively with executive teams and Board members
