As a Medical Care Specialist in the Lethbridge Detention Management Unit, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical and mental health assessments to detained individuals. Your clinical skill set and scope of practice will enable you to leverage your expertise to ensure detainees are medically fit to remain in cells. You will work closely with Lethbridge Police staff to provide medical care while ensuring detainee safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document patient care findings
  • Respond to medical and mental health needs
  • Liaise with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide emergency care and arrange transport to hospital when necessary

Qualifications:
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics
  • Valid ACLS certification
  • Experience dealing with mental health and addictions
