About the Role
Fasken is hiring a Legal Assistant to support the Commercial Litigation Group. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of business and legal terminology, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Commercial Litigation Group
- Handle administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, and preparing expense reports
- Prepare and maintain a bring-forward system and provide reminders
- Ensure all physical and electronic filing is organized and up-to-date
- Prepare engagement letters and routine correspondence
- Liaise with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts
- Provide backup coverage in the absence of other assistants or team members
Qualifications
- Legal Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5+ years working experience, preferably in a large firm
- In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology
- Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office 365
- Experience working with 3E, iManageWork, and DocuSign
- Familiarity with basic litigation procedures is an asset
