Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist I, Anatomical Pathology to join our team at Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a Medical Laboratory Technologist I, Anatomical Pathology, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, analyzing results, and communicating with healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities * Obtain laboratory samples from patients as required. * Perform laboratory procedures and analyze results according to established policies. * Prepare solutions, reagents, standards, and controls for use in analysis. * Respond to requests and inquiries for test results. * Communicate test results to appropriate parties. * Perform routine instrument maintenance and identify malfunctions. * Assist in evaluating technical procedures and developing policy procedures. * Participate in departmental training and orientation programs. * Assist with information management and maintain inventory of supplies. * Maintain a clean and safe work area. Requirements * Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). * One year recent related experience in the designated discipline within the last six years. * Demonstrated recent working knowledge of the assigned section or sections. * Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures and technical competence to perform tests used in the assigned section. * Basic awareness of research process. * Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively. * Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. * Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment. * Basic knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care. * Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment and software. * Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. * Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
