About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote occupational performance and recovery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university and be eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). You will also have experience in developing and providing group and individual psychoeducation, as well as demonstrated skills in completing functional assessments and building client capacity to promote occupational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients in the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote occupational performance and recovery
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals
  • Conduct functional assessments and provide psychoeducation to patients and families
  • Build client capacity to promote occupational performance and independence
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)
  • Registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
  • Experience in developing and providing group and individual psychoeducation
  • Demonstrated skills in completing functional assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to build client capacity to promote occupational performance
