Project Planner Job Description

ANDRITZ Hydro Canada is a leading international technology group with a rich portfolio of sustainable products and solutions. As a Project Planner, you will play a crucial role in helping the company achieve its sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align project schedules and execution plans with company and industry standards.
  • Interface with project teams, construction management, and business personnel to develop strong baseline EPC schedules.
  • Assist in developing option analysis and strategies for project scope and execution plans.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis with the project team.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules with the project team.
  • Ensure proper integration of all project schedules (L1 to L4).
  • Perform impact analysis of delays and accelerations and critical third-party interfaces.
  • Define critical and sub-critical path activities and communicate them to the project team.
  • Develop and maintain other schedules as deemed necessary by the project team, including milestone schedules, manpower curves, and mobilization plans.
  • Collect progress updates, apply progress to schedules, re-forecast resource requirements, and achieve milestones.
  • Liaise with the project team to generate EVM metrics.
  • Review manpower planning.
  • Ensure all schedules follow written scheduling procedures, including quality standards and best practices.
  • Improve global scheduling processes and standards to ensure data integrity and quality output.
  • Issue various project reports, including dashboards, customer progress reports, and monthly and quarterly reporting as needed.
  • Promote the value of scheduling to project teams, strive for schedule integrity, and influence decisions and outcomes with respect to project management.
  • Support the growth and development of the scheduling and project controls functions.
  • Visit project construction sites for closer collaboration with site managers and personnel and to audit field progress as required.
Requirements:
  • Three to five years of scheduling experience in an enterprise application (Primavera P6).
  • Three to five years of experience in managing schedules for large industrial/construction projects.
  • Bilingual, French and English, spoken and written.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, lead.
  • Strong analytics skills to evaluate complex data sets and resolve issues.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, deliver presentations, simplify, explain variances and issues to a team and propose solutions.
  • Short assignments require traveling.
