Job Summary

The Project Manager for Service and Rehabilitation Business is responsible for the proper execution of projects under their supervision, within budgeted deadlines and costs, and to the satisfaction of the client. This role requires strong leadership and team spirit, innovative thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Structures the launching of new projects, evaluates risks, sets financial objectives, and implements an efficient internal and external communication plan.
  • Defines a technical strategy and a supply plan in collaboration with the System Engineer and the Procurement Department.
  • Develops the general and detailed planning and coordination of all activities required to meet established contractual and financial objectives.
  • Ensures follow-up and compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, quality, and health & safety standards from Engineering, Procurement, and at Site.
  • Organizes team meetings, prepares minutes, and defines actions for the team during the execution of the project.
  • Analyzes and prepares all documentation related to project reviews with management.
  • Performs a risk & opportunity evaluation and details possible financial variances regarding established objectives while suggesting a contingency plan to correct any potential situation.
  • Collaborates with the Commercial Manager and System Engineer to analyze, define, and implement a contingency plan to correct any failure or inadequacy that can have a direct impact on the results of the project.
  • Prepares and negotiates customer claims with the support of the Commercial Manager.
  • Ensures the proper close-out of a project once activities are completed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the field of project management in heavy industry projects (experience in hydroelectricity or energy producing equipment and related manufacturing activities an asset).
  • Proven experience and accomplishments related to the efficient management of projects with inherent complexity and accelerated schedules.
  • Proven leadership and team spirit, innovative.
  • Excellent listening skills as well as verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in French and in English.
  • Availability to travel, as necessary.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (an asset).
  • PMP Certificate (an asset).
