We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Global Data Governance team as a Data Governance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the growing function and drive adoption of our data governance and data quality framework across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities- Support the deployment of data governance agenda globally to accelerate trust and utilization of data.
- Collaborate to continuously refine global data quality framework and drive adoption of the framework by developing playbooks, accelerators, and training partners in data quality concepts.
- Support leaders in data governance roles across the organization to improve their data literacy and familiarity with data governance and data quality practices.
- Engage with partners at various levels of the organization to guide them in identification of critical data elements and setting-up metrics linking data quality to business value.
- Conduct hands-on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification through root cause analysis to issue resolution.
- Implement global data governance metrics and oversight mechanisms to ensure delivery of target outcomes through the Data Governance program.
- In partnership with Technology teams, support adoption of the data quality technology in the Azure Cloud environment as well as for on-prem applications.
- Serve as a liaison between the Global Data Governance team and our Segment Data offices, Data Owners, and Control Partners to ensure that data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated.
- Apply creative thinking and contribute to innovation in the data governance practices at Manulife; monitor new and existing data governance technologies and bring meaningful advancements to the leaders' attention.
- 5+ years of data governance and data management related experience in a large multinational organization.
- A college/university degree in computer science, engineering, or another technology or quantitative field.
- Mastery of data governance concepts and technologies. Hands-on experience using one or more leading data quality software and data visualization products at scale.
- Familiarity with foundational data architecture concepts and Cloud technology is a plus.
- Practical experience with data wrangling, analytics, dashboard design.

The salary range for this role is $00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
