About the RoleThis role involves delivering and picking up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. As a Logistics Delivery Specialist, you will operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. You will also receive and relay information to central dispatch, keep a record of items received and delivered, load and unload goods, sort packages for delivery, and use maps and other trip planning aids.
Responsibilities- Operate Vehicles Safely: Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Deliver Items: Deliver messages, parcels, and other items to clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch to ensure efficient delivery and pickup operations.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of items received and delivered, including vehicle mileage and fuel costs.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You should also be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
You will be working in a physically demanding environment and will be required to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles. You will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
