About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting diagnostic analytical laboratory tests and procedures to ensure accurate and timely results.

You will work collaboratively with all members of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine team to provide high-quality patient care. Your strong client focus and ability to build solid healthcare client/practitioner relationships will be essential in this role.

About You
  • Graduate from an approved program in Medical Laboratory Technologist
  • Must be eligible or licensed with NSCMLT and eligible or registered with CSMLS
  • Strong computer software and program proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Self-directed with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, prioritization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development
  • Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
  • Good attendance and work record in current and past employment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent full-time positions; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$30.83 - $37.54 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
