About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Contracts Attorney to join our team at Equinix. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial customer contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full deal cycle, including reporting and communicating contract status to internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and approval of customer deals, working closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate approvals and address business issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex customer contracts and channel/resale contracts to ensure alignment with Equinix's business requirements.
  • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders, demonstrating a keen understanding of commercial considerations and working closely with senior management.
  • Provide ancillary advice and complete administrative tasks on various issues, including contract termination, novations, price increases, and renewals.
  • Collaborate with the global legal team on global projects, initiatives, and deals, and be comfortable working in a matrix reporting organization.
  • Partner with the business to identify and mitigate commercial risks, and develop templates for customer transactions.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 6 to 10 years of practice experience.
  • Extensive experience in sell-side contract negotiation is critical.
  • Strong ability to identify business concerns and draft bespoke contract provisions to solve for those concerns.
  • Experience working on a collaborative team with key business stakeholders to identify key business concerns and project manage document development.
  • Competent, engaged, accurate, resourceful, independent, organized, and able to prioritize.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to negotiate and draft in a second language (such as Spanish or French) an advantage.
