Role Overview

Gannett Fleming is seeking a skilled Communications Design Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of communication systems for transit and rail projects. This role offers the flexibility of being hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement communication systems for transit and rail projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce detailed drawings and specifications
  • Mentor junior engineering associates and develop design tools and processes
  • Ensure design specifications align with client project requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate industry experience
  • EIT or PE License and/or RCDD or be able to obtain them preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and communications design for transit and rail systems
  • Proficiency in drafting, using tools such as AutoCAD, to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, communication networks, and integration principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multiple modeling and drafting software tools (MicroStation, REVIT, Blue Beam)
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Understanding and application of Electrical Codes and Class 2 wiring requirements
