Job Summary

Chinook's Edge School Division is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Educational Assistant to join our team at École Deer Meadow School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing educational support in a classroom setting, working closely with teachers and students to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support to students in a classroom setting, assisting with lesson plans and activities as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supervising students during transitions and breaks.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in educational support.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., education, special education, child and youth care).
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
