About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutting Specialist to join our team at Milton Halal Meat. As a key member of our retail staff, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality meat products are prepared and presented to customers in a clean and safe environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to order, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
  • Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers, taking pride in delivering exceptional service.
  • Wrap and package prepared meats, labeling and dating them correctly for customer consumption.
  • Remove bones from meat, using manual cutting utensils with precision and care.
  • Weigh meats for sale, accurately recording weights and prices for customers.
  • Cut poultry into parts, handling each item with attention to detail and quality control.
  • Price meat products, updating pricing displays and maintaining accurate records.
  • Grind meats, following established procedures to ensure consistent quality.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, with relevant work experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a butcher shop or supermarket/grocery store environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods and handling manual cutting utensils with ease.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
