Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to provide administrative support to our clinical programs team. As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for providing secretarial support, drafting and formatting materials, and arranging meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial support by typing technical and non-technical material, including medical reports, policy updates, and correspondence.
- Draft, format, and provide graphic enhancement to materials and forward to originators within established timeframes.
- Draft and sign routine correspondence.
- Arrange meetings by booking appointments, locating meeting rooms, and notifying personnel.
- Set up and maintain filing systems.
- Provide support for student/resident teaching and evaluation.
- Make travel arrangements for designated personnel.
Requirements
- Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription, and three years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
