Senior Materials Developer - Toolbox

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials Developer - Toolbox to join our Raw Materials Development (RMD) Team at Arc'teryx Limited. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for researching and developing industry-leading materials with fiber, yarn, and finish forward performance attributes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative materials with high-performance attributes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive commercialization and material separation in the market
  • Evaluate technical capabilities of suppliers and collaborate with Raw Materials Sourcing
  • Assess risks and communicate effectively to leadership and senior leadership
  • Test and evaluate materials using Arc'teryx custom and industry standard lab testing
  • Pursue material trademarks with brand partners
  • Develop a thorough understanding of business priorities to focus developments
  • Represent the function with confidence in cross-functional stage-gate meetings

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of performance knit, woven, waterproof breathable, and composite textiles
  • Previous materials laboratory testing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PLM systems
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
