Product Development Engineer

Lonza is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team in Kingston, ON. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvements in our Cocoon product line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve product quality and reliability through design modification
- Investigate product complaints and non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and propose corrective actions
- Review existing product designs, identify weaknesses, and propose improvements
- Lead collaborative design updates and implementations of corrective actions and backlog features
- Create strategy for verification of corrective designs and participate in verification activities
- Generate and review technical documentation, including investigative pursuits, conceptual design, mechanical drawings, and technical reports
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in product design in a regulated industry, medical device or product design/manufacture field required
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, and 3D printing
- Experience with CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
- Design experience with a focus on Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Organized and detail-oriented, with hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Experience with technical leadership for projects with cross-functional teams
