Job Overview

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Louis Riel Childcare Centre in Winnipeg, MB.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment that supports the development of children's physical, emotional, and social skills;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with children, families, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive team approach;
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with Métis-specific programming and meet the diverse needs of children;
  • Support children's attempts to resolve conflicts and develop social skills through positive guidance and redirection;
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood education;
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve program goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field;
  • Minimum one year of experience working with young children, preferably in a Métis-specific setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities;
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods, as required by the job.
