Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Risk Management and Governance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our internal audit department, you will be responsible for leading risk management and governance initiatives across the organization. Your expertise will help us identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the continued success and growth of Vancity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and conduct audits through the entire audit lifecycle, ensuring compliance with Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement key initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal audit function.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to internal auditors to build capacity and capability within the team.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize audit processes and methodologies, consistent with Global Internal Audit Standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an internal auditor, preferably in the financial or regulated services sector.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, data analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience with the evaluation of risk management practices, internal controls, and governance processes.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant standards, including Global Internal Audit Standards.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
