Emergency Department Mental Health Liaison Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Liaison Nurse to join our team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our In-Patient Psychiatry team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide mental health and substance use care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, crisis interventions, and care planning.
- Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed care to patients and their families.
- Identify individuals with urgent and emergent mental health and substance use concerns and provide timely interventions.
- Work in partnership with clients, families, and clinical care partners to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Act as a resource for the interdisciplinary team, providing information and guidance on patient care needs.
- Provide liaison support for patient care and flow between programs and services.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement activities.
Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. We provide a range of services, including Emergency care, Renal program, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, and surgical services.
Qualifications- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Three years' recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and substance use presentations.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
