We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team at Gateway Newstands. As a Bookkeeping Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
  • Payroll and Benefits: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, and ensure accurate and timely payment of benefits.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
