Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Network Security Service Operations to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Cyber Security Service Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver superior levels of organizational and technical expertise necessary for the successful implementation, maintenance and support of RBC's critical global security infrastructure platforms and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide second-level technical support in network security, resolve compliance issues, and deliver infrastructure upgrades to ensure stability across the global RBC security stack.
  • Respond to network security event and incident escalations from first-level support Network Operations, internal/external clients and business partners.
  • Perform root cause analysis with vendor engineers and escalation teams for incidents and problems, along with implementing permanent solutions.
  • Responsible for planning and executing software code upgrades including patch management to maintain Technology Currency.
  • Execution of network and security infrastructure configuration changes across the global enterprise to adhere to technical security standards and resolve vulnerabilities.
  • Creating and continuously improving support / process documentation.
  • Security lead for Planned activities such as Disaster Recovery exercise, power maintenance activities and major network changes.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to review and understand new technologies.
  • Provide technical requirements and validate functionality in the lab before production implementation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for automation of repetitive tasks.
Requirements
  • Strong experience working with one or more of the following network and security appliances/vendors: CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Pulse Secure, Citrix, SSLv, Cisco Firepower, Blue Coat ProxySG, FireEye, Arbor, Akamai.
  • Excellent understanding of networking in an enterprise or complex environment, understanding TCP/IP, including packet inspection/protocol analysis using packet analyzers for troubleshooting is highly desired.
  • Good understanding of key protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, Telnet, SSL, NAT, IPSEC, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of the OSI model.
