Job Title: Senior SQL Business Systems Analyst

GalaxEons is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for analyzing current data processes and making recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze current data processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge
  • Work directly with the team to understand analysis and design needs
  • Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful solutions
  • Implement data products curated by our Chief Data Office, as well as custom data models for fit for use
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources and systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability
  • Provide technical support to promptly resolve escalated incidents/outages
  • Develop and document a detailed solution design, imparting subject matter expertise throughout the life cycle
  • Develop system performance and development standards requirements, then develop functional, technical, and designs
  • Build designs that leverage existing reusable components, trace back to business requirements, and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to data engineering
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst
  • Must be an experienced user with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Ability to write SQL queries
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Java, Spring
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, HDFS, ADLS, ADF, Spark, Kafka, Databricks
  • Experience in Python
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets
Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
  • Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, the ability to tolerate fluorescent lighting, and the ability to adjust focus
