About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Planner to join our team as a Solid Waste Planner. As a key member of our Canadian Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping our communities' waste management strategies and contributing to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Policy Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on waste management policies and regulations to inform our strategies and recommendations.
  2. Proposal Writing and Project Management: Lead the development of proposals for new projects and manage project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  3. Approval and Permit Applications: Assist project teams with the preparation and submission of approval and permit applications.
  4. Report Compilation and Drafting: Lead the compilation and drafting of reports and summary documents for stakeholders.
  5. Public Consultation and Engagement: Coordinate public consultation events and develop public-facing content to engage with stakeholders.
  6. Technical Contribution to Master Plans: Provide technical expertise to develop and implement solid waste master plans and strategies.
Requirements
  1. A post-secondary education in environmental planning, environmental policy, waste management planning, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  2. 5-7 years of project experience in the waste management industry.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people.
  4. Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
  5. Strong time management and organizational skills.
  6. Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Policy and Legislation.
  7. Experience working with First Nations (specifically in the waste sector) would be an asset.
  8. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
