Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Imasco Minerals Inc. as a key member of our production team.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing heavy industrial machinery and equipment. This includes reading blueprints, moving and aligning subassemblies and components, and installing major components such as gears, pumps, motors, or hydraulic assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and install prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accurate assembly
  • Move and align subassemblies and components to ensure proper fit and function
  • Install major components such as gears, pumps, motors, or hydraulic assemblies
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and make necessary repairs
  • Help with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment
  • Direct the maintenance and repair of an establishment's machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems
  • Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs
  • Install fabricated components in final products
  • Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
Requirements:
  • Machine Fitter Trade Certification
  • Experience with computer numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Precision measuring instrument experience
  • Hydraulic components experience
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG) experience
  • Heavy machinery manufacturing experience
  • Power cutting tools experience
  • NC and CNC systems experience
