Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Imasco Minerals Inc. as a key member of our manufacturing department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and assembling prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fitting and assembling prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery
  • Reading blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Moving and aligning subassemblies and components
  • Installing major components such as gears, pumps, motors, or hydraulic assemblies
  • Determining the nature, cause, and location of trouble
  • Assisting with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment
  • Directing the maintenance and repair of an establishment's machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems
  • Developing and implementing schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs
  • Installing fabricated components in final products
  • Setting up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
Requirements:
  • Machine Fitter Trade Certification
  • Experience with computer numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Precision measuring instrument experience
  • Hydraulic components experience
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG) experience
  • Heavy machinery manufacturing experience
  • Power cutting tools experience
  • NC and CNC systems experience
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to work overtime as required.
