We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Supply Educational Assistant to join our team at the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. As a Supply Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and exceptionalities, ensuring their unique behavioural and medical needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students with personal care and hygiene, such as toileting, catheterizing, and life skills.
- Administer medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations.
- Support students in occupational, physio, speech, and other therapy programs.
- Participate in training programs, such as Individual Education Plans and job training.
- Assist with student supervision and activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of instructional programs.
- Prepare instructional materials and equipment as directed.
- Participate in Identification, Placement, and Review Committee meetings and case conferences.
- Assist with loading and unloading school buses or taxis as needed.
- Requires O.S.S.D. and two years of specialized training, such as an Educational Assistant Program or Child Youth Worker.
- Knowledge of strategies and experience supporting students with special needs.
- Knowledge of pertinent Board policies and directives.
- Ability to operate audio-visual and office equipment.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting and positioning students.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $26.43, the opportunity to contribute to an OMERS pension, and access to long-term occasional assignments.
