Occupational Health Nurse Specialist

The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for managing employee illness/injury related absences and supporting return to work processes. This role will work closely with the occupational health manager to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate occupational health program initiatives and lead health promotion and wellness activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead case management of employee absence due to illness/injury
- Support return-to-work process following work-place illness/injury, as needed
- Implement policies, procedures, and processes to meet national and provincial standards and support the overall Occupational Health program
- Lead initiatives to mitigate organizational and employee risk related to occupational/non-work-related illness/injury absences, return to work and medical accommodation
- Co-coordinate and implement influenza vaccine clinics in collaboration with local leaders
- Registered Nurse with current registration in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
- Occupational Health Nursing Diploma or Certificate/Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Occupation Health Nursing
- At least 5+ years of experience managing Occupational Health
- Experience managing workplace illness/injury and claims management processes
- Strong knowledge of Human Rights legislation, Canadian Immunization guideline, Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders
