Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Duncan\u0027s Lounge Ltd. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Bake mixed dough and batters to a high standard.
  • Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to a high standard.
  • Draw up production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Train staff on new recipes and techniques.
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Repetitive tasks.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Tight deadlines.
  • Work under pressure.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 30-40 hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding.
