Job Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity exists within Alberta Health Services, Fort McMurray area, with the Fort McMurray Recovery Centre. This facility offers 28-day bed-based addiction treatment services to both men and women, based on current evidence, research, and best practice.

Job Summary:

As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff, assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff, and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supportive care to clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure a safe and secure facility, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate client admissions and client/facility searches, maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in medication assistance, following established protocols.
  • Assist with minor laundry and housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Prepare bedrooms for client admissions, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Support clients in participating in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Suicide Prevention and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
  • Experience or knowledge in addiction and/or mental health.

Alberta Health Services offers a competitive rate of pay and a Fort McMurray Allowance, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
