Job Title: Assistant Chief Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Counsel to join our team at Stitt + Zosky. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing and managing risk for the firm, working closely with the General Counsel and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage risk for the firm, identifying potential conflicts of interest, client terms of engagement, and other matters of ethics and professional responsibility.
  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures on risk management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance to lawyers in all offices on risk management, conflict of interest, and other related matters.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on new technologies, including AI, and their potential risks and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management Committee and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of practice experience in a large law firm environment.
  • Excellent judgment, superior legal research and writing capabilities, and strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of audiences, with strong leadership, relationship, collaboration, and consultation skills.
  • Litigation experience and fluency in French are considered assets.
