Data Governance Strategist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager/Manager to lead our Data Governance team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data governance strategy that ensures the accuracy, security, and compliance of our data assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a data governance framework that aligns with our business strategy and ensures data quality, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines that govern data management, privacy, security, quality, and compliance.
- Establish data standards and definitions to promote consistency, accuracy, and interoperability across the organization.
- Develop and implement processes for data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with IS security teams to develop and implement new data governance policies to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets.
- Facilitate and influence senior executives in supporting the implementation of a data governance committee.
- Communicate decisions made by the Data Governance Committee to key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, etc.
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, business intelligence, and data analysis.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Project Management experience to oversee the implementation of data governance initiatives.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies such as data governance platforms, data cataloging tools, metadata management tools, and data quality tools.
- Knowledge of database systems, data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise business risks associated with data governance or non-compliance.
- Awareness of data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
