Audit Professional with Risk Management Expertise

Gildan, a leading apparel manufacturing company, offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Audit Professional to join its team.
The OpportunityAs a key member of the Internal Audit team, you will play a crucial role in providing independent and objective assurance services to add value and improve Gildan's operations. You will develop and execute an internal audit program, leveraging a systematic approach to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The Role- You will support the development and implementation of a flexible risk-based annual internal audit plan, including periodic reporting to the Audit & Finance Committee.
- Assist in identifying and assessing business risks to determine the nature, extent, and timing of audit procedures.
- Lead planning, execution, and reporting phases of operational, compliance, and strategic audit mandates per the Internal Audit Plan.
- Participate in special projects and investigations within the organization as necessary.
- Support the Director, Internal Audit, in preparing Board-related material.
- Collaborate with the Director, Internal Audit, in leading an objective team of professionals and supporting professional development.
- Develop and enhance internal audit approaches/templates and methodology to optimize team resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of classified information gathered during tasks and responsibilities.
- Adhere to fundamental principles, standards, and guidance provided by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Stay up-to-date with relevant new developments, emerging practices, and successful practices in internal auditing.
- Foster strong working relationships with management stakeholders to strengthen confidence and trust in Internal Audit services.
- This role is based in the Montreal Corporate Head Office, with hybrid remote work arrangements (~3 days in office per week).
- 8-10 years of progressive internal audit experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Desirable: experience in the manufacturing industry and/or IT Audit.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental internal auditing principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and common audit procedures and techniques.
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts in a public company setting (e.g., ICFR, NI-52-109 certification, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), COSO framework, etc.).
- Experience with data analytics and related systems processes (e.g., ...).
- Ability to voice opinions (supported by facts), escalate issues, and positively manage conflict.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint).
- This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees, or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
- An estimated salary for this role is around $120,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
