Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Specialist to join our team at BC Hydro. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a key role in supporting the effective management of our human resources and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position that reports directly to the Manager, Human Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to management on all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and training and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human resources policies, procedures, and programs to meet the changing needs of the organization;
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on human resources-related matters, including performance management, discipline, and grievances;
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge;
  • Manage the administration of employee benefits, including pension, health, and dental plans;
  • Analyze data and metrics to inform human resources decisions and strategic planning;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a leadership or advisory capacity;
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labour relations, and collective bargaining agreements;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
