Electrical Engineering Specialist for Quantum Computing Development

Xanadu is committed to building quantum computers that are accessible to everyone. As a member of our Hardware Team, you will collaborate with physicists and engineers to design high-performance custom electronic boards for photonic quantum computers.

About the Role:

As a senior electrical engineer, you will contribute your expertise in precision analog measurement and digital control. You will join a growing team dedicated to architecting the analog and digital electronics that control and acquire data from quantum photonic devices.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, optimize, refine, and debug electronic modules that interface with complex and noise-sensitive optoelectronic instruments.
  • Drive the development of the electronic control architecture for the world's first photonic quantum computers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of industry or academic experience in a relevant field.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively on complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mastery of low-noise ADC/DAC data acquisition and analog control systems.
  • Experience with RF testing equipment (VNAs, ESAs, AWGs, etc).
  • Strong understanding of both acoustic-band and RF electrical noise sources (ground loops, EMI from ambient radio and nearby electrical equipment, etc) and their mitigation strategies.
  • Experience designing interfaces between custom instruments and FPGA-based digital control systems.
