About the Job

Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year


This role involves overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all menu items meet our quality standards. You will be responsible for managing a team of cooks and kitchen staff, maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.


You will also be in charge of estimating labour costs, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and planning menus. Additionally, you will supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.



Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation
  • Manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to achieve efficient kitchen operations
  • Estimate labour costs and maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed
  • Plan menus and ensure they meet our quality standards
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to improve kitchen efficiency


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A culinary diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and certifications
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications


Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a high level of activity and noise levels. You will be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.
