About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Event Marketing Manager to join our team at Shopify. As a key member of our Global Event Marketing Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive event marketing strategy that drives business growth and engagement in Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement event marketing strategies that align with local business objectives
  • Manage event programs from concept to execution, including project management, logistics, and budgeting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute large-scale industry events and targeted experiences for high-value prospects
  • Conduct market research to identify key industry events and opportunities for Shopify's participation
  • Negotiate contracts and manage external vendors, including event agencies and freelancers
  • Work with content and regional marketing teams to develop event-specific content and presentations
  • Assess event effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Experience in events, experiential, and field marketing with significant business impact
  • Exposure to B2B, SaaS, and technology platforms
  • Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and functions
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated brand instincts, versatility, and point of view

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in reaching and engaging enterprise audiences
  • Experience working in retail and/or e-commerce
  • Experience with Shopify as a product and/or Shopify merchants
