Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of CAD $45.46 - $65.35 per hour, commensurate with experience. Job DescriptionThe Medical Care Specialist in Cardiology will work under the supervision of a Cardiologist, providing medical care to patients admitted to the hospital. The role involves assessing patients' day-to-day care, writing medical orders, consulting with other services, and responding to changing patient conditions. You will also participate in patient rounds, perform admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation as per CPSBC and organizational standards.
You will develop treatment plans in response to changing patient conditions, follow through on investigations, communicate with nursing staff and other care team members, and perform procedures within your demonstrated competence. Additionally, you will participate in professional development activities, attend clinical rounds, morbidity and mortality rounds, and other educational and research sessions.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
- Minimum of two (2) years of accredited postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs)
- English language proficiency requirements met by the CPSBC
