Job Summary

The Greater Essex County District School Board is seeking a qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to join our Continuing Education Program. As an ESL Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching ESL courses to adult students and contributing to a fair, inclusive, and antiracist learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL courses to adult students in a variety of settings, including morning, afternoon, and evening sessions.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in ESL instruction.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Teacher's Certificate.
  • Valid TESL Ontario Accreditation (or attain within 12 months of hiring).
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
