Role Overview

  • As a Test Project Engineer, you will collaborate with clients to establish requirements, develop comprehensive test plans, execute testing procedures, and document any discrepancies. Your role will also involve ensuring software meets qualification standards prior to its deployment on the CF-18 fleet.
  • Engage in the enhancement and design of new features for mission computers, armament systems, and communication control units within onboard software applications.
  • Participate in pioneering projects aimed at boosting the operational capabilities of the CF-18, such as optimizing missile functionality, integrating advanced GPS and laser-guided munitions, and developing GPS navigation systems.
  • Work in conjunction with CF-18 pilots and operational experts on a variety of initiatives.
  • Potentially provide on-site support to the Canadian Armed Forces during training exercises.
  • Your primary workplace will be in Mirabel, with occasional responsibilities in Saint-Laurent.

Qualifications Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering is essential.
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, or C# is advantageous.
  • Experience in fields such as aeronautics, avionics, testing, or embedded software testing is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, testing methodologies, and simulators is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork skills, effective communication in both English and French, and the ability to engage with diverse teams are necessary.

Operational Considerations

  • Compliance with Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR regulations is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
  • A reliable means of transportation is necessary for commuting to the workplace.
