Join CAE as a System Test Specialist

Role Overview

  • As a Test Project Engineer, you will collaborate with clients to define requirements, formulate test strategies, execute testing protocols, and document any discrepancies. You will also be responsible for ensuring software meets qualification standards prior to its deployment on the CF-18 fleet.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and design of new features for mission computers, armament systems, and communication control units within onboard software applications.
  • Engage in pioneering projects aimed at improving the operational efficiency of the CF-18, which includes optimizing missile capabilities, integrating advanced GPS and laser-guided munitions, and developing GPS navigation systems.
  • Work in partnership with CF-18 pilots and operational experts on various initiatives.
  • There may be opportunities to provide on-site support to the Canadian Armed Forces during flight training exercises.
  • Your primary workplace will be in Mirabel, with occasional responsibilities in Saint-Laurent.

Qualifications Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering is essential.
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, or C# is advantageous.
  • Experience in fields such as aeronautics, avionics, testing, or embedded software validation is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, testing methodologies, and simulators is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork skills, effective communication in both English and French, and the ability to engage with diverse teams are important.

Operational Requirements

  • Compliance with Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR regulations is mandatory.
  • Eligibility for obtaining and maintaining government security clearance is required.
  • A reliable means of transportation is necessary for commuting to the workplace.
