Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team at Performance Auto Group. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that all vehicles are repaired to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine vehicles to identify any additional safety or service work required
  • Prepare detailed reports on the back of repair orders
  • Estimate flat rate times for each recommendation using industry-standard manuals and company policies
  • Obtain parts prices and note availability for each recommendation
  • Perform all work as outlined on the repair order, with efficiency and accuracy, and in accordance with company and factory standards
  • Order parts when authorization is received, unless otherwise instructed
  • Save and tag parts for warranty or insurance purposes, or as requested by customers
  • Road-test vehicles after service, whenever a wheel is removed or a repair that may affect drivability is performed
  • Ensure all work is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely manner
  • Supervise work of apprentice technicians or students, reporting any deficiencies to the Service Manager
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes and dealer-specified training courses as scheduled by management
  • Stay up-to-date with all factory technical bulletins
  • Learn and understand current and emerging technologies as they apply to automobile service
  • Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent 'comebacks'
  • Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out
  • Keep the shop area neat and clean at all times
  • Clean the bay and bench at the end of each shift
  • Dispose of garbage, recycling, etc. as required
  • Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
  • Perform other duties as required by management
Requirements
  • Automotive Service Technician, fully licensed (310S or higher)
  • 3-5 years experience with automotive mechanical operations
  • Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed
  • Team-oriented, hardworking, and positive attitude
  • Grade 12 diploma or GED
  • Ability to work effectively without supervision
  • Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliability and ability to work productively
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Personable, reliable, and courteous
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed
  • Team-oriented and hardworking with a positive attitude
  • Excellent diagnostic and electrical skills
  • Previous Kia experience is considered an asset
