Our Team's Immediate Need for a Co-op Engineer

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Co-op Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cloud-based database solutions.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building and setting up development tools and infrastructure, developing automation test frameworks and test tools, and performing system testing for cloud, high availability, and reliable database solutions.
  • Additionally, the Co-op Engineer will be responsible for writing and reviewing test cases and test specifications, developing problem determination solutions for DBMS, and driving towards root cause identification and resolution on cloud environments.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database fundamentals, including transaction management, storage engine, MVCC, SQL optimization, recovery, and HA.
  • Proficiency in UNIX scripting and Python programming is also required, as well as strong knowledge of SQL, C/C++, and Java.
  • The successful candidate will also have good analytics skills, the ability to handle complex tasks by assessing issues and breaking down problems to reach an optimal solution.
  • Experience in different multiple database management systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Db2, and Teradata, is an asset.
  • Good understanding of cloud computing technologies, such as cloud storage, distributed systems, parallel computations, and consistency protocols, is also an asset.
  • Experience in designing overall database system release QA plan, Linux administration, and scripting languages, Docker, and OpenStack is also an asset.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Strong knowledge of database systems and transaction processing.
  • Good understanding of database fundamentals, including transaction management, storage engine, MVCC, SQL optimization, recovery, and HA.
