About the Job

Fowler Construction Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled Area Patrol Supervisor to oversee and direct operations for the Huntsville Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract (CDMC) with the Ministry of Transportation.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure the success of our contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Direct, supervise, schedule, and manage operations for the CDMC contract.
  • Team Development: Ensure patrollers and operators have the necessary certifications, licenses, and training to perform their work effectively.
  • Communication: Foster positive relationships with office staff, technical personnel, Ministry of Transportation representatives, emergency services, and the public.
  • Risk Management: Investigate incidents, report accurately, and follow up with the MTO to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Quality Control: Oversee sub-contractor work, monitoring performance, and reporting concerns to the project manager to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Safety and Environment: Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental conditions at work sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Operations: Manage inventory, order materials, and coordinate road closures with emergency services, school boards, townships, and municipalities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A valid driver's license, preferably DZ class.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and other relevant software.
Work Conditions
  • Travel to various sites/locations will be required.
  • On-call duty may be necessary as an after-hours emergency responder.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
  • Weekend and evening work may be necessary to meet the demands of the position.
