Job Overview

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting and Project Accounting Specialist to join our team on a 4-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial reporting and project accounting support to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of working paper files for external auditors
  • GL reconciliations performed on a monthly and annual basis
  • Review of bank reconciliation and assistance in accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, errors, and omissions accruals
  • Prepare Joint Venture financial statements and related documents
  • Project Accounting and Job Costing
  • Provide guidance to ensure Project Managers' work follows the Company's best practices
  • Communicate with and analyze Estimated Costs to Complete and make revenue recognition/provision recommendations
  • Provide reports to aid PMs in their assessment of project financial health
  • Education of PMs on the Accounting system and how to use/interpret financial information in the System

Requirements:
A post-secondary degree specializing in Accounting with a minimum of 7 years of experience including 2 years in a managerial position. Professional designation: CPA designation (or equivalent). Experience working with an engineering consulting firm. Knowledge of Deltek VantagePoint is a requirement.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this role is $80,000-$110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to the base salary, you may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.

Location: The Greater Toronto Area
