Cost Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team at CO_65 Bird Industrial Management Services Ltd. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for managing the cost control system for our projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of costs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates
- Monitor and update cost estimates to ensure costs are within expected ranges
- Create and manage work orders and purchase orders for project overheads
- Effective management of invoices and timesheets to allow accurate forecasting
- Manage a transparent process of allocation of appropriate project costs to capital projects
- Act as a resource for time entry questions and provide guidance to the cost control support role
- Provide overall cost coordination for the project and contractor personnel to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all labour costs
- Certified cost professional through AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) or working towards certification
- Post-secondary education, such as a degree or diploma in a related field, and/or relevant combination of experience
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Exceptional forecasting abilities
- Expertise in Project Management Systems in general while project specific application trainings will be provided
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office software
- Understanding of project management
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a rotational schedule of 14 and 7, in a camp-based environment
