We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in policy related to land, food, forests, and/or bioenergy.
About the PositionThis is a full-time appointment with a competitive salary of $95,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally-funded and internationally-competitive research program, supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, collaborate with faculty members, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their discipline, and participate in service to the department, university, and academic/scientific community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a strong research program focused on policy related to food, fuels, and/or fibre and the bioeconomy.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their discipline, including courses related to agriculture, forestry, and harvesting, as well as food policy.
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and provide mentorship and guidance.
- Collaborate with faculty members, contribute to departmental service, and participate in university-wide initiatives.
- A PhD in a relevant field, such as forest resources policy, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence or clear promise of excellence in teaching and research.
- A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a willingness to contribute to a welcoming community for all.
- Prior experience in supervising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and mentoring junior faculty members.
