Job Summary


We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Chronic Pain Program at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to receive comprehensive training in programming spinal cord stimulator implants and administering intrathecal pump fills for pain management.


The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team, including fully-trained neuromodulation nurses, physicians, and clinical representatives from implant companies. Our training program is fully-paid and expected to be completed within 6-8 months.


Key Responsibilities



  • Review patient status through chart review, observation, and consultation with the healthcare team
  • Assess patient problems and needs, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Provide nursing care according to identified policies and procedures
  • Monitor patient progress and modify the plan of care as needed
  • Record observations and report problems to designated staff

Requirements



  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Two years' recent medical/surgical experience with adults living with pain
  • Demonstrated skills competency and proficiency in programming and managing implantable neuromodulation devices

Additional Requirements



  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills
