Job Title: Program Leader - Youth Spaces

The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Leader to join our team. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for supervising drop-in youth programs and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise youth in the space and ensure they meet age requirements and abide by all rules.
  • Ensure all equipment is being signed out, monitored while in use, and locked up.
  • Plan and implement monthly theme nights and engaging activities.
  • Maintain effective communications with parents, public, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Interact with youth and create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitor the arrival and departure of participants from programs.
  • Assist with the general maintenance of program space.
  • Promote an environment of safety and respect among participants.
  • Ensure all required organizational and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 16 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of ages in a recreational setting.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.
What We Offer:
  • Rate of Pay: $19.56 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week, with a minimum of 1 weekday shift and 1 weekend shift per week.
