Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team at Spark Power. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading our accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly financial packages for 22 branches, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  • Accounting Operations: Lead the team in preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger balances.
  • Team Management: Supervise and coach 4 direct reports, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiencies in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Participate in the planning and forecasting process for the Canada Technical Services line of business, developing and maintaining a robust rolling forecast.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Assist with audits and taxes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting and Professional accounting designation.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of general accounting experience, with a strong background in financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws and regulations; proficiency in MS Suite and accounting software, including Oracle NetSuite & Adaptive.
  • Personal Qualities: Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
